Learning to scuba dive is not only a great way to relax, calm down and get away from our familiar surroundings for a while. A diving course is actually a ticket to a completely different, unusual and beautiful world, in which we can immerse ourselves for a while (quite literally!), leaving behind all that overwhelms us most: the hustle and bustle of the big city, the tremendous pace of everyday life or the gray, dreary reality. Beneath the surface of the water hides a wonderful world, unknown to most people, waiting to be discovered, and thanks to our diving courses in Warsaw you can find yourself in it too – we invite you to learn to dive at the deepest facility of its kind in the world!
Deepspot diving school in Warsaw – SSI diving courses
At Deepspot, we offer various types of diving training and courses in Warsaw for people at different levels – both for people who have never been in deep water and for certified, experienced divers.
All of the diving courses available with us are courses from the SSI (Scuba Schools International) organization, which means you will learn diving skills to the best international standards, as SSI courses can only take place at facilities accredited by the organization.
Certificates and authorizations obtained during SSI courses are honored worldwide and are official confirmation of the skills you have acquired in the scope covered by a particular diving course in Warsaw conducted by Deepspot instructors.
Scuba Diving Course
Scuba diving is diving with equipment that allows you to breathe underwater. If you’re curious if this kind of diving is for you, take a look at our multi-zone, world’s deepest (over 45 meters!) diving conditions simulator. Under the watchful eye of top instructors, you will learn the most important information on how to safely go underwater and try your hand at diving with the latest diving equipment available on the market. This could be the beginning of an adventure that lasts a lifetime!
Freediving diving lessons
Freediving is diving on held breath (sometimes also referred to as free diving), that is, without breathing equipment underwater. This allows you to move underwater with much greater ease than divers loaded with scuba diving equipment, experiencing the water in a way only available to freedivers.
Under the guidance of our experienced instructors, you will learn the basics and rules of freediving and dive for the first time in the safe, warm and clear waters of our facility. The feeling of freedom, tremendous tranquility and the awareness of overcoming one’s limitations are only a fraction of the emotions experienced by freedivers during a dive – try freediving and see if there is a freediver in you too!
Our beginner offer allows you to see if scuba diving with equipment or diving on stopped breath is right for you. These are not diving courses sensu stricto – treat them as an introduction to diving and a kind of initiation, through which you will find out whether the underwater world will fascinate you enough to want to return to it.
What kind of scuba diving courses can be done at Deepspot?
Our facility allows us to conduct diving courses and training of various types, designed both for those interested in scuba diving (scuba diving) and diving on stopped breath (freedidivng). The aforementioned one-time dives underwater to try out a particular type of diving can be a great basis for the diving courses in Warsaw offered by our center, but they are not mandatory – all the necessary information and skills can be acquired by enrolling in Deepspot for a proper diving course for beginners.
Those interested in learning to scuba dive in Warsaw have the following courses available at Deepspot:
SSI Indoor Diver Course
This is a diving course that does not differ in scope from the standard OWD (Open Water Diver) training program, but differs in one important detail: all of the training dives you will take as part of the SSI Indoor Diver course will be done in the pool, not in open water. What does this mean for you in practice?
As an Indoor Diver, you will be qualified to dive independently to a depth of 18 meters in any restricted body of water, such as pools, aquariums or specially designed diving facilities (including Deepspot). If, after obtaining the SSI Indoor Diver degree, you wish to go further into diving, you will complete the Open Water Diver course by supplementing your qualification with at least 2 additional training dives conducted in open water, during which you must also complete all the skills required for the OWD.
SSI Referral Diver Course
The SSI Referral Diver course is a great way to make sure that you don’t waste time learning about the theoretical aspects of diving or doing pool exercises while on vacation – you’ll complete this in the pool or in pool-like waters. As a Referral Diver, you can perform dives in confined waters up to a depth of 5 meters accompanied by a partner with the same or higher level of diving privileges.
By earning your Referral Diver’s credentials in advance, you’ll be able to focus solely on what’s most important – open water diving – during your dream trip! All you need to do is make 4 such dives within a maximum of 12 months of obtaining your SSI Referral Diver credentials, and they will be upgraded to SSI Open Water Diver (OWD).
The two diving courses listed above can be excellent initial preparation for the SSI OWD(Open Water Diver) course, as the material virtually overlaps in its entirety with what is required to be mastered during the OWD diving course. The only difference is that there are no open water dives.
OWD (Open Water Diver) scuba diver course.
If you know for sure that you want to dive with equipment, you can immediately opt for the SSI Open Water Diver course, which is the basic diving course you need to complete in order to dive independently and safely to depths of up to 18 meters in open water, such as lakes, rivers or sea waters.
SSI Level 1 Freediving diver course
This is designed for people who are passionate about freediving, a breath-hold diving course that allows you to become certified to freedive with a partner in open water and safely descend to depths of up to 20 meters. SSI Level 1 Freediving certification involves passing a swimming test – a distance of 200 meters in any style must be covered.
OWD (Open Water Diver) diving course.
Obtaining OWD (Open Water Diver) certification requires 2-4 dives in open water, which means that these dives cannot be completed directly in the Deepspot pool (it is treated as open water for freediving purposes only). But don’t worry – if you want to get your OWD certification, just contact our instructor in charge of the Deepspot Scuba 18m course for information in this regard.
Remember that when it comes to Deepspot’s instructor-led scuba diving course in Warsaw, the price includes both theoretical and practical preparation, as well as the provision of the necessary equipment for the duration of the course. This way you don’t have to take anything with you except a bathing suit, flip-flops and a towel.
How do you further your diving development?
If you still feel unsatisfied after earning your OWD credential and want to continue to grow as a diver, you can try one of the advanced diving courses. These courses are only available to those with Open Water Diver credentials – below you will find a short list of such courses, with only a fraction of what you have to choose from. Some of the most popular advanced courses include:
Advanced Adventurer Course
This is an advanced program designed for those divers who have not yet fully decided what specific specialty they would like to devote themselves to. As part of the Advanced Adventurer program, you can learn about 5 different specializations without being required to finish any of them. This will make it easier for you to choose the area that interests you most, while benefiting from an advanced training program and becoming a safer diver.
Specialty Diver course
You will automatically obtain the Specialty Diver title after completing 12 documented dives in open water and successfully completing at least 2 specialties (e.g., night and low visibility diving and boat diving) underwater photography or river diving).
Advanced Open Water Diver course
You will automatically earn your AOWD (Advanced Open Water Diver) credential after completing 24 documented open water dives and successfully completing at least 4 different specialties (e.g., night and low visibility diving, boat diving, underwater photography and river diving). As an AOWD-certified diver, you can also descend to greater depths – up to 30 meters.
Diver Stress & Rescue course
This is a special training program for divers who want to gain knowledge and skills in recognizing and dealing with stress, accident prevention and proper behavior in an emergency situation. AOWD credentials are required for this certification.
Master Diver Certificate
This is the highest certification possible in recreational diving. It is automatically awarded to divers who have a minimum of 50 documented open water dives and have completed at least 4 different specialties and successfully completed the Diver Stress & Rescue program.
If none of the specialties listed above convince you or strike your fancy, don’t worry – there are many others available in addition to them. In total, the number of specialties for diving adepts includes more than 20 items, among which you are sure to find something that interests you!
