DPV, or colloquially scooter, is an electric underwater vehicle for divers. In freediving, it has two main uses. First, it gives the wild pleasure of moving underwater effortlessly and at high speed. Second, it assists in belaying divers and makes belaying very effective, especially during deeper dives.

Using a scooter provides a lot of fun and opportunities, but it is challenging at the same time. To take advantage of these opportunities, candidates must be experienced freedivers. For this reason, the course is aimed at people with an Advanced Freediver degree or higher, able to comfortably and repetitively dive to a depth of 30 meters.

During the course, users will learn the theory of operating the Seacraft GO! scooter, learn how to operate it on the surface in practice, prepare it for diving and travel (including air travel). All the most important safety considerations will be discussed.

In the water part, there will be four sessions (a minimum of 6 hours in the water in total), during which the students will gradually increase the range of their skills, from simple swimming with a scooter to smooth belaying and pulling a freediver with a blackout.

After completing the course and passing the theoretical exam, participants will receive diplomas and be ready to use scooters in practice and improve their own skills on their own. The course is Deepspot’s own project, implemented with the support of Seacraft, and is unique in the world.

❓What to take with you:
Standard freediving equipment.
Optional: Climbing harness if the student would like to use their own during the course. A gopro-type camera (scooters have the ability to be attached).

❓How to prepare
During training, a large number of fast dives are made, which is physically taxing, so be healthy, sleepy and rested.

✏️ Minimum prerequisites:
✅ Advanced Freediver degree or equivalent from another recognized organization
✅ minimum of 30 logged dive sessions
✅ completion of last dive session no more than one month prior to course start
✅ comfortable and repeatable dives to a minimum depth of 25 meters

✏️ Privileges after completing the course:
💥 after completing the course, the graduate has the right to rent (for a fee) a scooter for safety during freediving sessions at DEEPSPOT.
💦 Fundive up to 20 meters- at the discretion of the instructor on duty, as long as conditions (pool congestion during a given session) allow.
💦 Fundive in the tube – require individual approval of the head of training
